I would like to express my profound admiration and appreciation for some of the music legends who have greatly impacted my musical journey. It all started with Santana’s band, whose music inspired me to learn how to play the guitar and master Carlos Santana’s intricate guitar lines and songs. Their music has remained an integral part of my life, and I have spent countless hours listening to their different live performances and versions of each song.

Through this process, I participated in one of the greatest Rhythms workshops that I believe exists in the world, listening attentively and simulating their music. I vividly recall singing each part individually, bass, guitar, percussion, and drums. Each instrument had a unique melodic and rhythmic quality that came together to create beautiful music.

One member of the group that had my attention was Michael Shrieve, the drummer at that time. His drum line was exceptional and taught me many things about music. I learned that it’s not only about technical competence or playing fast but more importantly, knowing “where to play” and “how to play.” Michael played in parts of the song as needed and didn’t overplay, a lesson that has remained with me to this day.

I wish to express my deep appreciation to Carlos Santana, Michael Shrieve, Gregg Rolie, Michael Carabello, Benny Rietveld, and Karl Perazzo for inspiring me and teaching me these valuable musical lessons. I hope to meet them someday and express my gratitude personally.

NOTE: We regret to inform you that the improvisation performed by Kaveh has not been incorporated into the notation and transcription files!
